LINCOLN, MA-Fill your car with food, friends, and family, and head on over to Sculpture Park Discovery Day at DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park! This event will occur on Saturday, October 9, from noon - 4 pm, rain or shine. Join us in the Sculpture Park for guided art activities, talks and demos by Sculpture Park artists, live performances, sculpture-inspired dance and movement, and a Sculpture Park scavenger hunt and Sculpture Park bingo. There will also be outdoor tours at 1 and 2 pm.
Bring a picnic or eat at The Café @ DeCordova. Enjoy a beautiful fall day on the grounds of the Sculpture Park. Ticket prices include admission to the Museum, which plays host this season to stunning photography exhibitions, including Robert ParkeHarrison: The Architect's Brother. Venture out onto the Phyllis and Jerome Lyle Rappaport Roof Terrace and enjoy the sweeping panoramic views of Flint's Pond and the surrounding woodlands at peak foliage.
As a special family-oriented bonus, Lincoln children's book author Rebecca Doughty will be on hand at The Store @ DeCordova for a book signing of her beloved story You Are to Me. Drop by to meet Rebecca between 2 and 4 pm and treat yourself or someone you love to a gift from what The Boston Globe has called "the best museum shop in Greater Boston."
Admission to Sculpture Park Discovery Day includes Museum entry. Prices are $5 for Members ($7 at the door on the day of the event) and $12 for Non-Members ($15 at the door on the day of the event). Ages 2 and under are free. No passes, discounts, or coupons will be accepted for this event. All parking is located at DeCordova. General Information
DeCordova Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm and on selected Monday holidays. As of September 18, 2004: General admission during Museum hours is $9 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, students, and youth ages 6-12. Children age 5 and under, Lincoln residents, and Active Duty Military Personnel and their dependents are admitted free. The Sculpture Park is open year round during daylight hours. The Store @ DeCordova and the School Gallery are open Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 7:30 pm, Friday through Saturday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Sunday 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. The Café @ DeCordova is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm. Free guided public tours of the Museum's main galleries take place every Thursday at 1 and Sunday at 2 pm.
