DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum is pleased to announce Party for the Park, deCordova’s annual gala taking place Saturday, May 11. The festive event—which includes cocktails, dinner, an auction of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and a dance party in the galleries—will celebrate deCordova’s integration into the Trustees of Reservations.

The gala’s honorary chairs are David and Victoria Croll, and Linda Hammett Ory and Andrew Ory. The co-chairs are Erica and Robert Mason. The evening’s special guest is Anita Walker, Executive Director of Mass Cultural Council.

In past years, deCordova has honored significant artists, philanthropists, and arts professionals. In 2018 deCordova honored Phyllis and Jerome L. Rappaport and the winners of the annual Rappaport Prize. In 2017 deCordova honored the 2006 Rappaport Prize recipient, Abelardo Morell, gallerist Arlette Kayafas, and photographic printing impresario Gus Kayafas. In 2016 the honorees were philanthropist and longtime deCordova Trustee Deborah Hawkins, Founding Director of MASS MoCA Joseph Thompson, and artist Richard Tuttle. And in 2015 the Museum celebrated gallerist Barbara Krakow.

This year’s Party for the Park centers on an exceptional alliance between deCordova and The Trustees, an organization dedicated to protecting and sharing exceptional places across the Commonwealth. The two organizations are aligned in their dedication to art, education, and landscape and believe the affiliation will reinforce their public offerings and achieve increased audience engagement for both organizations.

“We look forward to celebrating this landmark moment in deCordova’s history,” says John B. Ravenal, deCordova’s Executive Director. “This is a wonderful opportunity to savor the coming together of two wonderful organizations, enjoy an evening with friends, bid on special experience packages, and have fun on the dance floor—all while helping to ensure a bright and lasting future for deCordova.”

Ticket and table proceeds from Party for the Park will help to make partnership with The Trustees possible while providing vital funds to support deCordova’s exhibitions, lectures, and programs. They can be reserved by contacting rsvp@decordova.org or online at decordova.org/party.

The event is made possible, in part, by the following sponsors: Casner & Edwards, Harpoon Brewery, Hemenway & Barnes, Martignetti Companies, MAX Ultimate Food, PEAK Event Services, Skinner Auctioneers, and State Street Corporation.
