Art for April Vacation

Join us for spraying, pouring, and printing with paint inspired by the artists and techniques in the new exhibition, Expanding Abstraction: New England Women Painters, 1950 to Now.

Come one or all of the days as we explore a different abstract painting technique. Visitors can make their own paintings as well as contribute to a collaborative abstract installation in the Park. Wear clothes/shoes you won't mind a little paint splatter on.

Curious about deCordova’s summer camp? Preview the hive’s adventurous art-making vibes during April Vacation Week programs.

Designed for families with children 5–12, but all are welcome. FREE with admission or Membership!

Thursday, April 20 drop in 1–3 pm
Experiment with how paint moves and blends (or not) on a canvas. We’ll drip, we’ll spill, we’ll pour!

Friday, April 21 drop in 1–3 pm
What happens when air propels paint? What kind of new graffiti techniques will we invent?
Due to the rainy forecast, we'll be INSIDE experimenting with fans, spray bottles, straws, and more!
