ARTfull Explorations

This event last occurred on September 16, 2018, 1—3 pm.

Join us for a day celebrating the power of dots, creativity, and collaboration in conjunction with author-illustrator Peter Reynold’s annual International Dot Day.

Many things can be seen through a simple dot. Yayoi Kusama drilled holes into a large mirrored room to create a feeling of infinity in Where the Lights in My Heart Go. Inspired by Kusama’s outdoor installation accessible from the Museum building’s 3rd floor lobby, and The Lab’s multiple-hole camera obscura, create your own kaleidoscope through which to observe deCordova’s transformed landscape.

Dandelions, seedpods, and seashells are just a few of nature’s dots. Alongside Richard Long’s Brownstone Circle in the Sculpture Park, collect materials from deCordova’s landscape to together create a gigantic mandala-inspired circle.

Designed for ages 5–12, but all are welcome.

Drop in anytime, rain or shine.

FREE with admission or membership! Children under 12 are always free!
