ARTfull Play

This event last occurred on December 5, 2018, 10:30—11:30 am.

Fill your morning with art and play through experiences in deCordova’s 30-acre Sculpture Park and Museum. Each play-based hour features a unique opportunity to engage with art, stories, materials, nature, and new friends. Join us rain or shine for multi-sensory activities. Best for children ages 2-5 accompanied by a caregiver.

FREE with admission or membership. (Children 12 and under always get in for free!)

October 24
Nancy Winship Milliken’s Pasture Song invites us to imagine moving through its archway with dramatically draping fibers. At this month’s ARTfull Play, we will challenge ourselves to build sculptures tall and wide enough to crawl/walk under – and that just might tickle our bodies as we pass through!

November 14
Sheila Pepe’s knitted and crocheted creations have been compared to that of nature’s weavers: spiders. For this week’s ARTfull Play, we will observe the techniques of both spiders and the artist, and then design our own interconnecting webs.

December 5
Inspired by Sheila Pepe's dizzying drawings of cityscapes, bridges, and train tracks, let’s build our own cities complete with colorful yarn pathways.
