Conversation and Crafts with Matting Change

This event last occurred on January 30, 2019, 5:30—7:30 pm.

Join Audrey Lin, creator of Matting Change, for a fun evening to transform plastic grocery bags into crocheted sleeping mats for young adults experiencing homelessness. Make some plarn (plastic yarn) and hear about how Lin combined her love of fiber arts and the environment to help members of the Boston community.

No experience necessary! Materials will be provided, but if you have them, please bring all your single use grocery bags and/or Q sized crochet hooks.

About Matting Change
Matting Change organizes crafters in the Boston area to remake plastic bags into crocheted sleeping mats for homeless residents. In addition to reducing the environmental impact of plastic waste and protecting public health, Matting Change seeks community involvement and hopes to bridge connection with homeless youth.
