Guest Services and Retail Assistant Manager


The Assistant Manager for deCordova | Store will support the Guest Services and Retail Manager in the overall daily management of the retail space. This position is responsible for the daily supervision of sales staff and coverage of the sales floor while achieving key objectives including but not limited to:

  • Ensures customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service
  • Effectively sells and promotes store merchandise
  • Assists in executing merchandising plans to meet target revenue goals sales
  • Assists visitors and customers with information regarding the Park and Museum and all its programming
  • Provides training to new sales associates on policies, procedures, and merchandise features and benefits

Candidates must have previous retail management experience, which includes the supervision of sales staff as well as experience providing customer service and sales support directly to customers with an emphasis on building customer relationships. Must also be an effective and personable communicator. Previous experience with retail computer systems preferred. PC skills, including ability to use databases and Microsoft Office Suite, and an interest in and knowledge of contemporary art and design trends is required.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store. Entails lifting up to 40 pounds and ability to perform all functions as set forth above.

Must be able to work a full time schedule that occasionally includes nights, weekends, and holidays as well as the ability to work additional hours as needed.
