ARTfull Play

Fill your morning with art and play through experiences in deCordova’s 30-acre Sculpture Park and Museum. Each play-based hour features a unique opportunity to engage with art, stories, materials, nature, and new friends. Join us rain or shine for multi-sensory activities. Best for children ages 2-5 accompanied by a caregiver, September–June.

ARTfull Explorations

Explore Sculpture Park installations and Museum exhibitions with the family and friends. Once a month we will investigate an idea or a material inspired by the themes and artists on view. Join us monthly rain or shine from September–June for creative explorations. Best for families with children ages 5-12, but all ages are welcome.

School Vacation Week Programs

Programs during February and April vacation weeks connect families with seasonal exhibitions, artist projects, sculptural installations, and the unique natural environment at deCordova. Designed for families with children ages 5–12, but all are welcome.

Play in the Park

Explore how play informs contemporary art through the creation of large-scale collaborative structures. Each bi-weekly session features various materials to build site-specific, temporary constructions in response to the surrounding art and environment. Join visitors of all ages in different locations in the Sculpture Park as we play, experiment, and build in July and August.

Join us every other Sunday from during July and August when we roll out the MAKEmobile. Our mobile making station is fueled with surprising materials and exciting ideas each time it roves into the Sculpture Park. For children (and adults!) of all ages.

Family Friendly Interactives

Process Gallery and The Lab

Family Activity Kits

Kits and clipboards are available for close exploration of Museum exhibitions and Sculpture Park themes. Check in at the Museum front desk when you arrive.

Summer Camp

the hive

Curious kids ages 5–12 can think, discover, and make things together at the hive. Contemporary art in deCordova's 30-acre Sculpture Park and Museum galleries connects the hive’s weekly themes to real world ideas, unbounded creativity, and inspiring innovation. Our instructors are artists, naturalists, and makers who love exploring and sharing the intersections between art and nature in a collaborative environment. Each camper’s personal interests and unique abilities are welcomed and complement those of new friends. At the hive everyone learns from each other.
