Tour Types

Guided Tours

Guided tours are led by trained guides, are discussion-based, and engage preK through adult visitors with the changing contemporary art on view in the Museum and the Sculpture Park.

Self-Guided Tours

Self-guided tours of the Sculpture Park are available for all ages and may be enriched by deCordova’s audio tour available on cell or smart phone. Visit our mobile website for themed self-guided tour suggestions and more information on sculptures in the park, including audio clips of artists and curators talking about the process of making the work. Self-guided tours of the Museum exhibitions are available for adult, college, and high school groups.

Scouts & Home Schoolers

Badge programs and tours designed for Girl and Boy Scouts and homeschoolers start here.

Snowshoe Tours

Snowshoe Tours for ages 8 and up are available December through March weather permitting with 4 weeks notice.

Accessibility Tours

We are pleased to create specially designed tours for youth or adult groups with accessibility concerns. Please visit our Accessibility page for more information.

Touch Tours

Touch tours of the Sculpture Park, designed for groups with low or no vision and other multisensory learners, are available from April through November. Read more about Touch Tours on this blog by Perkins School for the Blind.

American Sign Language Tours

American Sign Language tours of the Museum and Sculpture Park are available on request with at least 4 weeks notice.

Tour Information

Reservations are required for Guided or Self-Guided groups of 8 or more in order for our visitor services and security staff to prepare accordingly. Please submit your request at least three weeks in advance, and several months ahead during the busy spring and fall seasons.

Because of the delicate nature of the Museum exhibitions, guided tours are required for all students grades 1–8. Visits to the Sculpture Park are strongly encouraged for preK-K.

Guided tours are 45-60 minutes.

Tours are conducted rain or shine.

Group Visit Fees

Group visit fees apply to both Guided and Self-Guided groups of 8 or more.

All groups of 8 or more are required to make a reservation in advance by completing a Visit Request Form. Your visit will be confirmed when you receive a confirmation letter with accompanying invoice, visit guidelines, and directions.

Payment is required at least three weeks prior to the visit date. A single payment in full for the entire group may be made by cash (exact change only), check (payable to deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum), or MC/Visa/AMEX credit card.
