The full company will offer a series of original solos, duets, quartets, and group pieces in the area surrounding the Aaron Curry: Grove sculptures. The performance will include original text written by local author, Elaine Dimopoulos.

Barry’s teaching style encourages individual experimentation and personal growth and exposes students to contemporary art and ceramics practice. His work consists of organic, vessel-like ceramic pieces with painted-on writings declared as journal entries. A finalist for the Massachusetts Cultural Council Crafts Grant in 2007, Barry has taught at deCordova since 1997.

DeCordova Cafe and Courtyard
Grab-and-go lunches, snacks, and beverages (including beer and wine) to enjoy inside or out in our newly renovated Courtyard.

Head inside the Museum building to check out two special exhibitions on view!

Sculpting with Air: Ian McMahon and Jong Oh
This exhibition features large-scale, site-specific sculptures by two contemporary artists engaging with the intangible element of air. Ian McMahon’s voluminous, pillow-like structure was created using an innovative technique of sprayed plaster, while Jong Oh’s delicate, gravity-defying installation was fashioned with string, wire, and Plexiglas.

Lived Space: Humans and Architecture
The artists featured in this exhibition explore our psychological and physical attachments to the spaces we build and inhabit. Lived Space also considers deCordova’s history as the once private home of the de Cordova family and the building’s transformation to a public museum in 1950.

Quiet Studio (Location: Studio Yellow)
Need a quiet space? Head to our studio to take a break.
